Joy Nursery School founder Vimla Meben no more

Vimla Meben
Vimla Meben, founder of Joy Nursery School, Joy Senior Secondary School, Wright Town and Vijay Nagar, passed away on January 5. She had devot­ed her life in encouraging people towards education and literacy. She was the founder of innovative education pattern schooling in Jabalpur.

Meben founded Joy Nursery School in the year 1964 with six children as stu­dents. She had devoted her life in propa­gating education and its benefits to the society. Working for life time, the sin­cere and devoted teacher had worked for 45 years as Principal and Administrator. With great simplicity and deep belief in Indian culture and traditions, she had opt­ed simplicity that would always be a source of inspiration for the generations to come.

Meben started her career as a teacher in a small room with six students and with her devotion and hardwork, the small school turned into three leading institu­tions of the city. Her son and daughter-in­-law are also serving in the institute as teachers.

Guidance to the students in their par­ticipation in art, craft, science and other curriculum activities organised at national and inter­national-level was just another quality in her personality.

With her charming personality and lov­ing nature, she had turned Joy School in to a joy family.

At Joy school, there are many teachers who were her students, and are now teaching in the school. The current school prin­cipal is also her student.

This is an irre­versible loss for whole Joy Family. Vimla Meben's body would be kept for public viewing at Joy School, Vijay Nagar branch from 8am to 12.30pm on January 6. At 1 pm, the funeral procession would reach English Methodist Church for offering last prayer and thereafter last rites would be performed at Bilhari graveyard.

She leaves behind her sons Arun & Debra, Praveen Meben, Akhilesh & Neenu, daugh­ter Jhalak & Naveen and Tanay (grand­son), friends to mourn her loss.


We are very sad to see Mrs Vimla Meben go, she was a very fantastic human and a good teacher for all of us. Without her, it was not possible for students to reach at the top level all over the world. Rest in peace Meben Ma'am. You are amazing! (Credit: Greenlie)

Four Munnabhais from Bihar caught in apprentice exam

Four Munnabhais were caught while appearing in the entrance examination of Trade Apprentice in Vehicle Factory Jabalpur (VFJ) and Ordnance Factory Khamaria (OFK), on Sunday.

The fake candidates have been identified as Anuranjan Bharti, Anish Bharti, Sushant Raj Mehto and Suraj Kurmy. Al1 the fake candidates are the residents of different villages in Bihar.

It may be mentioned that the trade apprentice entrance examination was organised by the Vehicle Factory Jabalpur and Ordnance Factory Khamaria at five different centers including at VFJ Government School, St Marry Higher Secondary School, Kendriya Vidyalaya, VFJ, St Gabriel School, St Joseph School, Ranjhi and other centers.

More than 3,000 'candidates representing different parts of the country appeared the examination for trade apprentice training in Vehicle Factory Jabalpur.

Lawyers abstain from work to protest court fees on motor accident claims

To protest the decision of sub­mission of 10 per cent court fees of the claims made in the Motor Accident Cases appeal before the High Court taken by the State Government, lawyers abstained from work to observe state-wide Protest Day on the call of State Bar Council, on Monday.

The members of District Bar Association and High Court Bar Association also participated in the Protest Day. The lawyers submit­ted a memorandum to district admin­istration warning that if the order is not withdrawn by the State Government, then all 80,000 advo­cates in the State would stage protest and take to the street.

President of District Bar Association R K Singh Saini and Secretary Sampuran Tiwari, in a press release issued here, informed that the State Government has increased the court fees in Motor Accident Case appeal would directly put finan­cial burden on appellants and poor public of this State.

4 injured in freak mishap near Aashirwad Market

Four people were critically injured in an accident near Aashirwad Market under the jurisdiction of Lordganj Police Station on Sunday.On the information, police reached the accident site and rushed the injured to the hospital.

Kamal Kumar Chourasiya (47), a resident of Miloniganj informed that driver of a car (MP20-F-8928) hit him while he was going towards Kotwali and injured other three persons when they were standing out­side his shop situated in Aashirwad Market.

The other three injured has been identified as Chhakodilal Sahu, Sunil Jhariya and Annilal. The accused driver fled away from the site of incident leaving his vehicle and injured on spot. The police have registered a case under Sections 279, 337 of the IPC and started searching the absconding driver taking the matter into investigation.

Chargava Police solve blind murder mystery

"Mystery of a blind murder case of Guddu (24) alias Gyan Singh Patel, a resident of vil­lage Dundawara, has been solved by the Chargava Police. Police nabbed three accused in blind murder case Guddu, found dead near New Bhedaghat under the jurisdiction of Chargava Police Station on April 16, 2009," informed Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) (Rural) T K Vidyarthi while addressing a press conference on Sunday. Accused have been identified as Dharmendra Patel (31), son of Nijam Singh Patel, Raja Lodhi (19), son of Hira Singh Lodhi and Pancham Patel (20), son of Gopal Patel, resi­dents of village Chargava.

ASP Vidyarthi informed that· a decomposed body was found near New Bhedaghat under the jurisdiction of Chargava Police Station on April 16, 2009. Police registered a case number 128/11 under section 302, 201 of the IPC and started investigations after the recommendation of medico-legal expert.

Agriculture sector has registered desired growth, Sharad Pawar

"India has retained its self-suffi­ciency in foodgrain production. In India, since ages farming is being done but with great knowledge that enables farmers to feed the popu­lation. But in present circumstances when population is growing and natural resources are decreasing, around 80 per cent of the popula­tion is dependent on agriculture for food and employment. In recent years, desired growth has been reg­istered in the country," said Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar while addressing the inaugural cer­emony of 6th National Conference of KVK 2011 Enabling Farmers for Secondary Agriculture on Saturday.

Pawar added that secondary agri­culture can become an effective tool towards socio-economic strength­ening of farmers. Besides this, strengthening of farmers with knowledge about possibilities and correction in existing system can help in enabling farmers for sec­ondary agricnlture.
Pawar further said that the Ministry has established Dr Narmon Borlag Institute in Jabalpur along with Punjab that will work on crop attributes of wheat and maize due to increasing environmental warm­ing. Besides this, in Bundelkhand Package decided by the Union Government, declaration of estab­lishment of Rani Laxmi Bai Central Agriculture University at Jhansi and Central College of Veterinary Science and one Central College of Fisheries will take farming to another level. He further asked the scientists and subject specialists working in KVKs to work for edu­cation of farmers on available tech­nology and to make them aware about benefits and profits of this system. He also paid heed to sug­gestions and demands raised by Cabinet Ministers of Government of Madhya Pradesh Dr Kusmaria and Dr Ajay Vishnoi. He said that the seminar will pave new way for future of agriculture. The recom­mendations to come out from this seminar will directly affect 12th Five Year Plan and ICAR's focus of 2030 Vision.

Jabalpur Nodal Team bags inter-engg collegiate meet

Jabalpur Nodal Team clinched the overall championship in the recently held State-level Inter­Engineering Collegiate Athletics Meet.

The meet was organised as per annual sports calendar of Rajeev Gandhi Technical University under the auspices of RGPM, Bhopal.

In the meet Jabalpur Nodal team bagged 42 medals including 11 gold, 14 silver and 17 bronze medals respectively and lifted the glittering championship trophy. During the meet, in women's category, Sheren Yadav of Hitkarini College bagged gold medal in long jump and bronze medal in 100 metres race, Milhima Khatri of Khalsa College won sil­vermedalsin 1,500 and 5,000 metres race, Meenal Sud of Takshila College clinched gold medals in discuss throw and shot-put throw. Rani Singh Rathore of Khalsa rollege won gold medal in javelin throw, Sampada Kaurav of Khalsa College bagged gold medal in high jump and bronze medal in long jump.
